Kathmandu, 26 Jan :
The sister organizations of the CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Centre) and Nepali Congress from the Muslim community have expressed grave concern over zero representation of their community in the National Assembly.
During a press meet organized here Friday, the organizations warned of stringent stir if the parties ignored reconsidering their decisions that failed to represent Muslim community in the NA.
They argued that it was because of the faulty threshold.
Central member of the UML and Chair of Nepal Muslim Ittehad Organization, Sheraj Ahmad Farukee, said the NA could not be imagined in the absence of Muslim people. So, the big three parties must reconsider their decision.
Similarly, senior Vice Chair of Muslim Association Nepal affiliated to the Nepali Congress, Mohammad Nijamuddin, the Muslim people had played significant role in every political movement. But it is worrying to have zero representation of the Muslim people in the NA, he added.
Politburo member of the Maoist Centre and Muslim Liberation Front, Atahar Hussein Farukee, accused the parties of violating the rights of Muslim people.
