Kathmandu, 25 Jan :
Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has said that the support of the private sector was inevitable to transform the customs system of the country into an international standard one.
Speaking at a function organised to mark the International Customs Day, he said that the agenda of the country should now be economic prosperity with the country heading towards a new phase politically.
Minister of State for Finance Udaya Shumsher Rana said the economy cannot be consolidated by depending on customs revenue, and suggested using alternative ways.
President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Rajesh Kaji Shrestha lamented over the failure to building an atmosphere conducive to economic development and trade.
